Why is it that every RPG or anime seems to have a hidden village of some kind. And for that matter, why are most not even hidden that well? This one is pretty much just inside a crater on an island, surrounded by numerous deadly beasts and dangerous Mechon with seemingly no defenses of any kind protecting it. There is no door blocking the way! Wolves can get in, for Christ's sake!
In short: We finally get to meet the people of Mechonis - the Machina.
They're machine people. Like us, but with robot parts and a lack of common sense when it comes to security. Fortunately though, they can still order people on fetch quests as good as any Hom can. Ahh, RPG cliches...where would we be without you?
If you've ever crossed paths with The Gaming Brit, chances are that you're well aware that hia obsession with the Metroid franchise borders on the unhealthy. He loves every facet of it, from the atmospheric tone of the classics, to the cinematic scope of the Prime games. However...there's always one game that comes along, in any franchise, to test your faith.
One that makes you question your devotion to the series you hold so near and dear to your heart, and question why you ever liked it to begin with. This, dear viewers, is such a game. Welcome to the Sonic 06 of Metroid.
What's this? A new spin on the shortly lived HellfireCast?! Well...no.
This podcast is run by our magnificent site artist karto, and as a favour to him for all the hard work he's put in thus far, I'm gonna be posting his videos on the main page of the site from now on.
To quote karto, this episode is all about "the new Persona games & anime, A Certain Magical Hat, how bad the dub for Sailor Moon is & how creepy a lot of fans can be.". So if that tickles your fancy, be sure to check out the podcast and visit his site via the link below if you'd like to see more videos n' whatnot.
Sorry for the short, late and kinda random update. Been a tad ill today, so I decided to take it easy and record some Mario Kart matches with TundraBoy. I'll get back to Xenoblade n' whatnot tomorrow, 'promise!
Oh, and before I forget:
THE HELLFIRECOMMS BLIP ARCHIVE JUST PASSED 2 MILLION VIEWS! *APPLAUSE* *CONFEFTTI*
To celebrate such an important milestone, I stopped being a stingy bastard-man and finally purchased a pro Blip account. Basically, this means that you can now watch vids (that come from my specific archive, anyway) in their original quality, with all their sharpness and crispness intact. Unfortunately this HD option won't be available on videos that aren't embedded from my archive (like, say, half of each playthrough on the site), but still - it's a start! Most of the vids are still converting, so please, be patient, and the super-de-duper quality shall come soon enough.
Thanks to all of you who have helped us to reach this milestone. Truly, I could not ask for a better fanbase. Have a good one, and I'll see y'all tomorrow for another HFC update.
Today's installment of the Birth by Sleep playthrough takes Ventus to the Castle of Dreams, where he finds himself shrunk down to the size of a mouse and forced at guilt-point to make a pretty dress so some lazy bimbo can go to the Royal Ball.
